Our Story
How they met Magen and Kevin first met when tey were both in high school, in 1999. They worked together as dietary aides at a local nursing home. Magen was involved with someone else at the time and actually tried hooking Kevin up with one of her good friend! Eventually Kevin moved on to another job and they lost contact. They met up again in 2005 when Magen's youngest sister, Stacy, started working at Sam's Club. Kevin also worked there and thought Stacy was cute so he went up to talk to her. When he got closer he thought that Stacy reminded him of someone he once knew, so he asked Stacy if she had a sister named Magen. She said she did and Kevin gave Stac his number to give to Magen. Magen told Stacy to give Kevin her number because boys are supposed to call to ask girls out, not the other way around! Magen and Kevin went on their first date on July 7. When Magen got home she had to run to the hospital because her older sister, April, had gone into labor with her second son! Unfortunately, about a month later, Kevin's younger brother passed away. Magen and Kevin grew very close after that and spent most of their days and nights together. They've had their ups and down since then, but they've always come through it together and stronger as a couple.
The proposal Kevin proposed to Magen 2 days after their son, Jackson Kal-El, was born. They were at Magen's house, in her room, and Kevin came over after he had gotten off of work. Magen was sitting in a rocking chair, rocking their son to sleep. Kevin got down on one knee and promised that he would love her forever and that he wanted to spend his life with her. He couldn't afford to buy a ring yet, so he gave Magen a ring that belonged to his Mother and promised to give her one of her own one day. On Mother's Day 2007 Kevin bought Magen an absolutely gorgeous wedding set, but she still wears the original ring he proposed with as well.
